We do one thing: get your dog properly clean at your door in about 45 minutes. If your dog needs a haircut, one of the three above is the right call and we will tell you so.

Straight answer
Which one should you call?
If your dog needs a haircut, book one of the other three. Doodles, Poodles, Shih Tzus, Bichons and Maltese have coats that grow continuously and must be cut on a schedule. We do not do that work, and no amount of washing substitutes for it.
If your dog is matted, book a groomer today. Mats tighten when wet. A wash makes a matted coat worse, not better, so this is not a close call.
If your dog just needs to be clean, book us. Labs, Goldens, Huskies, Shepherds, Beagles, Pit mixes, and every short-coated breed need bathing, de-shedding, nails and ears — all of which we do — and no haircut at all. Paying full-groom prices for that means paying for hours of scissor work nobody performs.

Comparing the vans.
Because a full groom genuinely varies — coat condition, matting, and breed all change how long the haircut takes, and quoting blind is risky for them. The trade-off is that you cannot compare anyone without making a phone call first. Wash-only has none of that variability, which is exactly why we can publish a number.
If your dog has a continuously-growing coat — Poodle, Doodle, Shih Tzu, Bichon, Maltese — then yes, absolutely, and you should book one of the full-service vans. If your dog is short-coated or double-coated, the haircut portion is not something they need, and you are paying for skilled work that will not be performed.
Established mobile groomers in the Bay Area commonly book one to three weeks out, because a full groom occupies two to three hours of a single van's day. A 45-minute wash fits into a route far more easily, which is why same-day and evening slots are usually available from us.
That is the sensible pattern for doodle owners, and plenty of people do it. Book the full groom on the schedule your dog's coat actually needs — often every 8 to 12 weeks — and use a wash in between to keep them clean and mat-free without paying for another cut.

Ace was great with my 3 small dogs. They got washed and towel dried, their ears checked, their nails trimmed. One star off because he trimmed one nail too far and it bled for a long time, plus distressed my already anxious dog. Important to know that this service isn't van-based (yet). Ace brings a portable wash station to set up outside. He brings his own water and supplies. He doesn't do any hair cuts, just basic wash and towel dry. I'll call him again in the future!

We booked Bay Area Mobile Dog Wash for our 90-lb German Shepherd, Koda, who hates the groomer. Ace parked the van right in our driveway in Willow Glen, walked her up the ramp himself — no lifting, no cage, no other dogs — and I watched the whole wash from my doorstep.
