It's Aussie Pet Mobile with a new name, two very different Bay Area franchises, and quote-only pricing. Here's the record.
We compete with them for South Bay driveways, so read this with that in mind. Their San Jose franchise has one of the best review records in the field, and if your dog needs a haircut it deserves your call. The honest difference is the pricing model: theirs is quoted, ours is published.
The franchise that actually serves San Jose
Note if you're searching from the East Bay: that's a different franchise (Oakland, 3.6β on Yelp), it does not serve San Jose, and several of its reviews describe slow or unconfirmed booking. The brand is only as good as the territory operator β check which one your address gets.
Bay Area Mobile Dog Wash β San Jose & the South Bay
Wash, de-shed, nails and ears at your door with heated water β no haircuts, no cats, no add-on ladder. The price is published by size, $75β155, de-shed included in the tiers that need it. Evenings and weekends, text to book. We are the new small operator in this comparison and our review base is a fraction of theirs; we'd rather tell you that than have you find out.
Figures from barkandmane.com franchise pages and public Yelp/Google listings, September 2026. Reviewer price reports are individual accounts, not a rate card.
Haircut breed, or a cat? Book Bark & Mane of South Bay. That is full-groomer work and their local record at it is strong.
A dog that needs cleaning, not cutting? Book us. For Labs, Goldens, Huskies, Shepherds and Pit mixes, the bath-and-blowout is the whole job β and with us it has a published number instead of a quote plus add-ons.
Still comparing? All the local mobile options sit side-by-side in the vans compared, and the full price ladder is on the pricing page.
Published price, no quote call, usually same week.

Owner-operated Β· Local service
I run Bay Area Mobile Dog Wash myself β Iβm the one who shows up at your door. Every visit is one dog at a time in the van at your curb: warm water, a full brush-out and a proper dry, with no salon drive and no cage waiting. The van is open to you the whole time β stand at the door and watch every minute if you like. Big dogs, heavy shedders and nervous seniors are the reason this service exists.
What our customers say
Wonderful experience! Ace did an amazing job grooming my Siberian Husky. She can be a little difficult and anxious during grooming, but Ace was incredibly calm and patient, which really helped keep her calm and comfortable too. She looked absolutely beautiful, clean, and fluffy when he was finished. I really appreciated the care and attention Ace gave her and would definitely recommend!
Ace at Bay Area Mobile Dog Wash was absolutely wonderful with my senior dog. He was so gentle and patient with him, which meant everything to me given his age -- I could tell he genuinely cared about his comfort throughout the whole process. Beyond the excellent care, Ace was warm, loving, and clearly an animal lover at heart, while also being completely professional from start to finish. It's rare to find someone who balances that kind of tenderness with real expertise, and my dog came out looking and smelling great without a hint of stress. Highly recommend Ace and Bay Area Mobile Dog Wash. Price is great!
Ace was punctual & accommodating. He was friendly & outgoing not only me & my husband but toward the dogs as well, calling them by name on our very first booking. Dogs came home clean & unstressed which is never the case when theyβre washed at the groomerβs shop, around other dogs. Highly recommend.
We booked Bay Area Mobile Dog Wash for our 90-lb German Shepherd, Koda, who hates the groomer. Ace parked the van right in our driveway in Willow Glen, walked her up the ramp himself β no lifting, no cage, no other dogs β and I watched the whole wash from my doorstep. Bath, nails, ears, and she came back inside dry and calm. Flat $95 exactly as the website said, no surprise charges. We've already booked next month. πβ€οΈ
Iβve tried multiple other mobile dog washes in the area, and Bay Area Mobile Dog Wash has stood out by far! They did an amazing job with Chloe, treated her so well, and she came out looking absolutely beautiful. You can tell they genuinely care about the dogs and take pride in what they do. They also did a great job on her nail trim, which I really appreciated! Iβm very happy with the experience and will definitely be using them again. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great mobile dog wash! πΆβ€οΈ
Bay Area Dog Wash being mobile is such a convenience. The fees are flat rate as well which is great because you know exactly what youβre paying prior to the completion of the service. Ace is amazing with dogs. I highly recommend, you wonβt be disappointed!
Ace did a great job with our little old chihuahua mix. Our appointment was for the evening and he came prepared with warm water, and made our sure our dog was comfortable the entire time. Don't let the lack of reviews on yelp scare you away, his prices are good, and he takes time to ensure that good work is done.
I had a great experience with Bay Area Mobile Dog Wash! The owner is a genuinely good guy who cares about people and the service he provides. Itβs refreshing to meet someone who is kind, genuine, and passionate about what they do. I appreciate the care and attention they put into their service. I would definitely recommend Bay Area Mobile Dog Wash to anyone looking for great service for their furry friend.
He did such an amazing job with my dog! He came out looking so nice, clean, and well-groomed, but what stood out to me most was how happy and comfortable he seemed afterward. You can really tell he was treated with care throughout the entire process. I'm extremely pleased with how everything turned out and would definitely recommend him!
Ace came and gave my dog a much needed Pawdicure on my little Yorkie. He used the nail filer/buffer. I was very happy to see there was no clippers used.He was very professional and gentle with my girl. She usually hates her paws touched, but she was very calm with Ace. He has a great set up for his mobile grooming unit and I was able to stand van side and watch without getting in the way. We need to support small businesses and professional business owners. I will definitely recommend and rebook with Ace again!
Overall, we had a very positive experience with our first mobile grooming appointment. Although he arrived a little late due to a minor scheduling miscommunication, Ace was very kind, communicative, and especially patient with our dog, who can be anxious about grooming. He took the time to help him feel comfortable, completed the grooming efficiently, and our dog seemed happy and in great spirits afterward. We really appreciated his gentle approach and care!

SUCH a great - and easy! - experience! Asa was immediately responsive (I love when businesses actually answer their phone!), worked Moose in within 24 hours, was communicative throughout, bought unscented products specifically for us, did a great job with my 12 year old doodle β¦ all in all: amazing service!

Ace showed up on time .was ready to go . my dog was scared but after he got started my dog calmed down and enjoyed her bath. Ace is very polite and respectful . i have a friend who uses Ace to and loves him ! .for the price and the care you canβt beat itβ¦!!! 10/10 no doubt !
Ace was great with my 3 small dogs. They got washed and towel dried, their ears checked, their nails trimmed. One star off because he trimmed one nail too far and it bled for a long time, plus distressed my already anxious dog. Important to know that this service isn't van-based (yet). Ace brings a portable wash station to set up outside. He brings his own water and supplies. He doesn't do any hair cuts, just basic wash and towel dry. I'll call him again in the future!
