What we do, what we do not do, what it costs, and what happens when plans change. Short, and in the same voice as the rest of the site.

These terms cover services provided by Bay Area Mobile Dog Wash in San Jose and the surrounding South Bay. When you book an appointment, on this site or by phone or text, you agree to them.
You confirm you are the owner of the dog, or are authorized by the owner to arrange the wash and to agree to these terms on their behalf.
Every visit is the same service. It includes:
We do not cut hair. No haircuts, no clipping, no scissor work, no breed trims, no sanitary trims, no face trims. That is not a service we offer at any price, and asking on the day will not change the answer. If your dog needs a haircut, you need a groomer with clippers, and we will happily say so and point you toward one.
Add-ons such as a flea bath, a teeth brushing or a de-shedding treatment are priced individually and shown to you before you confirm.
The wash happens inside our van, parked at your address. The van carries its own fresh water, heats it on board, and runs on its own power. We do not use your water, your hot water or your electricity, and waste water leaves with us in a sealed tank.
Price is set by your dog's size and nothing else. There are no service tiers, no coat-type surcharge, no travel fee, no fuel surcharge, no neighborhood surcharge and no weekend or evening premium. The published ladder is $55–95:
If your dog turns out to be in a different weight band than the one booked, we will tell you before we start and the price moves to the correct band. That is the only circumstance in which the price changes on the day, and it never changes without you agreeing to it first.
First-time customers get $10 off the first wash. Multiple dogs are each priced at their own size.
Prices are current as of the date at the top of this page and may change over time. The price you are shown when you book is the price you pay for that appointment. The pricing page always shows the current ladder.
Tips are appreciated and never expected. There is no tip prompt in the booking flow.
Appointments need at least 6 hours notice, because a mobile visit has to be fitted into a driving route. Slots inside that window are not offered online. If you need something sooner, call or text (408) 599-8317 and we will tell you honestly whether it is possible.
You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before your appointment. Use the link in your confirmation email, or call or text us.
Inside 24 hours we would appreciate as much warning as you can give. A one-off late cancellation is fine, life happens. Repeated late cancellations, or nobody being home when we arrive, may mean we ask for payment in advance on future bookings, or decline to schedule further visits.
We may need to move an appointment ourselves for a vehicle breakdown, a safety issue or genuinely unsafe weather. If that happens we will call you, offer the next available slot, and there is no charge.
We need somewhere legal and safe to park within reasonable distance of your door: roughly one parking space, with about 10 feet of clear width so the van can open up and be worked in safely. Your driveway is ideal, and the curb directly outside works just as well. In an apartment or condo, a visitor space or loading zone near your unit is plenty.
You are responsible for arranging that access, including any permit, gate code or building permission that is required. If we arrive and there is nowhere to park, or the space is blocked, we will call you and try to solve it. If it cannot be solved, the visit is treated as a same-day cancellation.
You do not need to be present for the whole visit, but someone must be able to hand over the dog and take them back. We will text on the way and when we are done.
By booking, you confirm that your dog's vaccinations are current, including rabies as required by California law, and that your dog has not shown signs of a contagious illness in the days before the appointment. We may ask to see proof. Please tell us in advance about any medical condition, injury, allergy, sensitivity or behavioral history that affects how your dog should be handled.
We may decline or stop a wash, at our discretion, in these situations:
If we decline before starting, there is no charge. If we have to stop partway through for safety, you pay only for what was completed, and we will explain exactly what that means before we invoice anything.
If your dog is injured or becomes unwell during a visit and we cannot reach you, we may seek veterinary care, and the cost of that care is yours.
Payment is due when the wash is finished. We take cards at the van, or you can pay through the link in your booking confirmation. No deposit is taken to hold a slot and nothing is charged up front.
The amount is the published price for your dog's size, plus any add-on you agreed to before we started, minus any discount. Nothing else appears on the total. If the number on the payment screen ever differs from what you were quoted, tell us on the spot and we will fix it.
We are insured, and we take real care with every dog. Washing, brushing and nail trimming still carry inherent risk, particularly with senior dogs, dogs with existing skin or joint conditions, and dogs who struggle with handling. Quicking a nail, a nick, or a reaction to a product can happen even when everything is done correctly.
You accept that risk when you book. We are responsible for injury or damage caused by our own negligence, and our total liability for any single appointment is limited to the amount you paid for it, except where California law does not permit that limit. We are not liable for pre-existing conditions, for problems that emerge from a coat or skin issue we were not told about, or for indirect or consequential losses.
We are not a veterinary service and nothing we say is veterinary advice. If your dog needs a diagnosis, they need a vet.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page changes when we do, and the terms that apply to your appointment are the ones published when you booked it.
