A bath will not cure frenchie skin problems. The right bath helps prevent them: a gentle shampoo, cool water, every fold opened, cleaned, and dried. This page is what that visit does, step by step, and the signs that mean your dog needs a vet before it needs a wash.
Face folds, the nose rope, and the tail pocket trap moisture, and frenchies run high rates of environmental allergy.
Lift debris and allergens off the coat and out of the folds, then leave every fold dry. That is prevention, not treatment.
Fold dermatitis, yeast, and bacterial infections that have already started need a vet, not more washing.
Frenchies sit in our small tier. The gentle shampoo is not an add-on, and nails and ears are included.
Why frenchie skin goes wrong (fold dermatitis, yeast, allergies) is explained in french bulldog skin problems. This page is about the bath itself.
More washing does not fix an active infection and can irritate it further. Once your vet has it under control, a regular gentle bath is part of keeping it from coming back.
What your dog reacts to, what shampoo has worked, and whether your vet has prescribed anything. It changes what we reach for.
Before any water: face folds, nose rope, tail pocket, armpits, and belly. If something looks like it needs a vet, we tell you before washing, not after.
A hypoallergenic or oatmeal option, diluted rather than used full strength. If your vet prescribed a medicated shampoo, we use yours with the contact time on the label.
Cool rather than hot water for itchy skin, and enough time on the coat for the shampoo to do its job before it comes off.
Each face fold, the nose rope, and the tail pocket are opened and cleaned individually instead of washed over.
Residue left in a fold is an irritant. The rinse runs until nothing is left.
Each fold dried individually, then the whole dog dried completely. Drying is the step that actually protects the skin.
Ears checked and cleaned, nails clipped or ground. Both included.

Why dilution and rinsing matter more than the brand is on the shampoo we actually use.
A dog guarding a sore spot. A frenchie that flinches when a fold is touched is telling you something. Our senior and anxious dogs approach, one handler and no rush, applies to a dog protecting a sore fold as much as to a nervous one. If the fold looks infected, that visit becomes a vet referral, not a bath.
Flat faces run hot. Frenchies do not shed heat well. Whoever bathes yours, keep the water cool to lukewarm and the dryer off its hottest setting. Heat stress is on our list of conditions we will not wash through.
Itch that does not settle. If your frenchie is still itchy a week after a gentle bath, the shampoo was probably never the cause. The itchy-skin guide walks through the four causes to rule out with your vet.
Our small tier, flat. The sensitive-skin shampoo, the fold and tail-pocket work, the ear cleaning, and the nail trim are all part of it. Nails and ears are included in every wash. Mention the skin when you book so the visit is set up for it.
The weekly fold routine and how often to book are on the french bulldog breed page.
What every wash includes is on the mobile dog bath page.
Sensitive-skin bath for your frenchie at your driveway, $75 flat, nails and ears included. If it is a vet issue, we will say so plainly.

I run Bay Area Mobile Dog Wash myself β Iβm the one who shows up at your door. Every visit is one dog at a time in the van at your curb: warm water, a full brush-out and a proper dry, with no salon drive and no cage waiting. Big dogs, heavy shedders and nervous seniors are the reason this service exists.
What our customers say
SUCH a great - and easy! - experience! Asa was immediately responsive (I love when businesses actually answer their phone!), worked Moose in within 24 hours, was communicative throughout, bought unscented products specifically for us, did a great job with my 12 year old doodle β¦ all in all: amazing service!
Ace at Bay Area Mobile Dog Wash was absolutely wonderful with my senior dog. He was so gentle and patient with him, which meant everything to me given his age β I could tell he genuinely cared about his comfort throughout the whole process. Beyond the excellent care, Ace was warm, loving, and clearly an animal lover at heart, while also being completely professional from start to finish. It's rare to find someone who balances that kind of tenderness with real expertise, and my dog came out looking and smelling great without a hint of stress. Highly recommend Ace and Bay Area Mobile Dog Wash.
Ace was great with my 3 small dogs. They got washed and towel dried, their ears checked, their nails trimmed. One star off because he trimmed one nail too far and it bled for a long time, plus distressed my already anxious dog. Important to know that this service isn't van-based (yet). Ace brings a portable wash station to set up outside. He brings his own water and supplies. He doesn't do any hair cuts, just basic wash and towel dry. I'll call him again in the future!
Ace did a great job with our little old chihuahua mix. Our appointment was for the evening and he came prepared with warm water, and made our sure our dog was comfortable the entire time. Don't let the lack of reviews on yelp scare you away, his prices are good, and he takes time to ensure that good work is done.
He did such an amazing job with my dog! He came out looking so nice, clean, and well-groomed, but what stood out to me most was how happy and comfortable he seemed afterward. You can really tell he was treated with care throughout the entire process. I'm extremely pleased with how everything turned out and would definitely recommend him!

Ace showed up on time .was ready to go . my dog was scared but after he got started my dog calmed down and enjoyed her bath. Ace is very polite and respectful . i have a friend who uses Ace to and loves him ! .for the price and the care you canβt beat itβ¦!!! 10/10 no doubt !
We booked Bay Area Mobile Dog Wash for our 90-lb German Shepherd, Koda, who hates the groomer. Ace parked the van right in our driveway in Willow Glen, walked her up the ramp himself β no lifting, no cage, no other dogs β and I watched the whole wash from my doorstep. Bath, nails, ears, and she came back inside dry and calm. Flat $95 exactly as the website said, no surprise charges. We've already booked next month. πβ€οΈ
