Honest limits
What a skunk wash can and cannot promise.
A faint trace can come back when the dog gets wet. Oil left deep in a thick coat reactivates with water, which is why the full dry matters so much. We will not tell you a single wash guarantees zero smell.
The treatment has to stay away from the eyes, nose and mouth, so a direct hit to the face is the hardest part to clear, and a wash cannot treat the eyes. If they stay red or streaming, call your vet.
A dog that already had tomato juice or a perfumed shampoo is harder to clear. Tell us what went on first. And anything the dog rubbed against indoors is a separate cleaning job we cannot do for you, which is the best reason to keep them outside until we arrive.
